Redfish

Redfish are one of the best sight fishing targets we have in Southwest Florida.  They seem to love cruising our shallow water in search of their next meal, which allows us ample opportunity to fish for them.  These fish aren't pushovers and require an accurate cast that lands delicately in their path in order to have a chance to catch them.

7wt and 8wt fly rods are the ideal tools for the job here.  These lighter fly rods help us land the fly very softly right in the path of a feeding redfish.  I like to use small suspending bait fish patterns for our redfish in order to keep haning up on oysters at a minimum.
